Linking visitors with Indigenous people

We can help you find a local Indigenous cultural experience

The Indigenous Tourism Hub can help you access to a range of Indigenous tourism operators, cultural fesitvals & events, as well as special events created for corporate and group bookings. Contact us.

Our Role

Since 2008, Aboriginal Bush Traders has been funded by Tourism NT with support from the Australian Government, for the establishment of an Indigenous Tourism Hub for the Darwin region.

As part of this funding we are able to provide support for Indigenous tourism operators in Darwin and surrounding regions. The type of support we can offer may be different for each operator and will depend on what particular services they are after. Some of the support services include:

  • Back office support – assistance in record keeping, understanding financial and licencing requirements and identifying suitable funding or support programs etc
  • Mentoring – working with operators to help them establish or develop their product
  • Referrals – linking operators with qualified support services (e.g. finance, marketing etc) and, where appropriate, providing some funds to pay for these services
  • Promotion and Marketing – promoting Indigenous tourism products through Aboriginal Bush Traders website and our Tour Desk in Darwin
  • Booking Service – Our Tour Desk will have the capacity to accept bookings on behalf of operators
